Our Club motto is “We Drive Excitement” and to the key to “driving excitement” is developing skills as a driver!
We are a car club based on ownership of high performance vehicles specifically manufactured for the purpose. Our Club offers its members the below wide range of Driver Development activities because members have different cars, different interests and different skill levels, and we try to ensure that the family can be involved in most of these great driving activities. Our club works closely with the Specialised Training and Coaching team who provide these focussed Driver Development programs, two of which are at special prices for Club members.
Defensive Driving Program. The Steer Safely driving program is held in the Sydney Dragway precinct by Specialised Training & Coaching. A discount of $50 is offered to HSVOC Members so please advise of your membership when making a booking on Club Days. This is the foundation course for all your future driving experiences and can also pay for itself on the road in helping avoid accidents in the first place. Please click here for more information. SMSP Track Evenings. Sydney Motorsport Park runs track evenings on the Gardner circuit that caters for three groups of drivers. There is a Beginner Group that will suit drivers who have previously attended less than 3 track days or track nights at SMSP, the Intermediate Group will suit drivers who have previously attended 3 or more track days or track nights at SMSP and the Advanced Group will suit drivers who have previously attended 5 or more track days or track nights at SMSP. Driver’s University. This is a free online series of tutorials developed by Professional Race Driver and Coach, Scott Mansell, that explain techniques which his Company Driver 61 has developed and included in their Drivers University. Many of these techniques require practice and patience to master. The good news is that many of these can be practiced during every day driving to help them become second nature. You will find that the art of going quickly and safely around a race track is acquired through quality practice.
