The AGM was held on 12th March 1992 which elected a new Committee with the exception of Social Secretary which remained vacant. Foundation members Jeff and Trish Kelly as well as Gary Benson retired at that AGM after many years of service to the Club.

Robert Heard became Club President and through Club Secretary Eric Grosszmann he issued an invitation to Peter Brock to become the Club’s Patron. Peter accepted the Club’s invitation on the 18th of May. Refer to his acceptance letter on the right.

The annual “cannonball” run to the Bathurst Races in October was still going strong with the Kellys in their VL Turbo arriving at Mount Panorama in a record time of just 1 hour 50 minutes after leaving the Caltex twin servos at Eastern Creek – with Peter Hennessy’s VN not far behind!

The V8-engined GTS was introduced in Australia in 1992 with the VP series and represented the HSV brand’s most powerful offering to date.

HSV established a new HSV Engineering Centre in premises adjacent to the Holden Racing Team and Holden Motorsport Headquarters, about 1km from HSV’s factory in the Melbourne suburb of Notting Hill. This move not only strengthened HSV’s engineering expertise but freed up fgactory floor space t help accommodate the 150 units per month currently being produced. HSV also established a small production facility in Sydney, at Roseberry, to handle demand from the NSW market.

HSV also revived the name of the GTS with a production run of limited to 150 units in 1992. The VP GTS (pictured below) will boast a 200kW 5.0 litre engine, recalibrated auto transmission, 3.27:1 ratio rear axle, premium front brakes using Corvette calipers, 17″ ports wheels as those fitted to the Senator 50001 and fully appointed interior.

1992 Club Magazines:
The format of the 1992 Club Magazines remained the same as started in mid 1990 with a standard pre-printed glossy full colour cover and pages printed this year by Glenn Warner Printing. The 1992 Magazines displayed the Club’s new name and logo over the pre-existing cover design. They were published every 2 months, the first edition was April 1992 because of the March AGM.
