As a vote is required to determine specific 2020 Committee positions, members who reside outside the Sydney Metropolitan Area are invited to take part in the election of the Club’s 2020 Office Bearers and Committee Members through this online vote.
As provided for in sub-clauses 15(2) & 15(4) of the Constitution, where the Secretary receives a single nomination for a specific position by the deadline date, that position will be deemed to be filled and no further voting will take place.
Where the Secretary has received no nomination for a specific position by the deadline date, that position will be declared vacant and expressions of interest may be received at the AGM. This is so that the interested party can be given ample opportunity to read and understand the responsibilities contained in the relevant position’s Job Description that become agreed through the acceptance of that position.
In cases where the Secretary receives more than one nomination for a specific position by the deadline date, sub-clause 15(5) of the Constitution requires a ballot be held for that position.
Members who reside outside the Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area are to submit their votes for the above 2020 Committee positions by midnight 1st November 2019.
These online votes will be combined with votes received from the floor at the AGM by the Returning Officer to determine each successful candidate.
A Returning Officer will be appointed by the committee for the AGM and under sub-clause 34(2) of the Constitution, this officer will not be an office bearer or committee member.
