2024 NSW 6 Hour Regularity – Expression of Interest

$0.00

This event is the “Bathurst 1000” of our Club each year. It’s an event that everyone can experience the fun and exhilaration of a race team, but in a friendly less serious environment.

Our Club supported 5 teams in this event in 2023, and we’d like to bring this great experience to more of our members by offering a chance to participate in this event in 2024.

Please scroll down for more detailed information about joining us at this event.

The first thing we need to do is to determine how many Teams our Club will need to support in the 2024 event.

If you are interested in entering your car next year, please complete the Expression of Interest below.

Once we have this information, we will be able to work out how many teams we will have and the number of drivers for each team.

We ask each driver to also nominate at least one other person who can help out over the event as a member of their Team.

Drivers may also nominate a preferred Team to join. Members of the 2023 Teams as below have priority.

People who wish to join a team as a Team member but don’t have an association with a driver, are also asked to submit an Expression of Interest so that we can plan our Teams resourcing in advance.

There are a wide range of interesting roles for Team members, and you’ll be asked for your preference when completing your Expression of Interest below.

Team members must be at least 14 years old, and 16 years old to be on the pit wall next to the competition surface.

Once you have completed your Expression of Interest, please add it to your Cart and then submit it online through the Checkout.

Description

This event is the “Bathurst 1000” of our Club each year. It’s an event that everyone can experience the fun and exhilaration of a race team, but in a friendly less serious environment.

Our Club supported 5 teams in this event in 2023, and we’d like to bring this great experience to more of our members by offering a chance to participate in this event in 2024.

The 2024 Event will be held on Saturday 27th April (Practice) and Sunday 28th April (Competition).

The 2024 event details are still to be finalised, so we’ll go by how the 2023 event was run as it’s unlikely to vary much from the proven format that was run then.

2024 costs should be around $2640 per team which means that the cost for each driver in a 4 car team will be around $660, around $528 in a 5 car team and around $440 in a 6 car team. 2024 costs maybe a little more than these indicative prices.

In a 4 car team, each car should run around 40 laps (157 kilometers) over 3 sessions in Saturday practice, and around 38 laps (149 kilometers) in competition on Sunday. That’s around 78 laps (306 kilometers) over the weekend – you won’t get anywhere near that value in any other track event.

We have found that 4 car teams are the optimal, however, 5 and 6 car teams can lower the cost for the drivers, but also reduce the amount of track time accordingly.

The first thing we need to do is to determine how many Teams our Club will need to support in the 2024 event.

If you are interested in entering your car next year, please complete the Expression of Interest below.

Drivers will need a helmet to the standard of AS/NZS1698 or higher, a Motorsport Australia Speed licence current at the date of the event, and non-synthetic long sleeve top, long pants and closed footwear. Refer the Supplementary Regulations for more information.

The Motorsport Australia Speed licence is through an online application and no special tests are required. Please click here to apply online for a Speed Licence.

Once we have this information, we will be able to work out how many teams we will have and the number of drivers for each team.

When entries open next year, we will require each driver to commit to their entry as the Club is required to pay for each Team’s entry before the entry forms are sent out to each Driver by the Team Manager. Once the Club has paid the entry fee for each Team, each driver will be required to re-imburse the Club accordingly and no cancellations can be made. If a driver wants to withdraw, they must find a replacement entrant or forfeit their entry fee if this occurs within 30 days of the event.

We ask each driver to also nominate at least one other person who can help out over the event as a member of their Team.

2023 Team members were:

HSV McBuilt Motorsport: Paul McIntyre, Brenton McIntyre, Peter Blackwell & Peter McIntyre. (Manager Paul McIntyre)

HSV Berowra Car Care: Louise Taylor, Jack Hills, John Hills & Craig Trevenar. (Manager Stuart Taylor)

HSV DJS Air Motorsport:  David Sultana, Kiara Zabetakis & Daniel Garrett. (Manager Joe Garzaniti)

HSV Triple X Motorsport: Malcolm Michel, Bill Vouden, Mick Fil & Eva Fil. (Manager Bill Vouden)

HSV Motorsport: Jason Lill, Brett Thompson, Lilly Wilson, Michael Wrobel (Manager Michael Wrobel)

People who wish to join a team as a Team member but don’t have an association with a driver, are also asked to submit an Expression of Interest so that we can plan our Teams resourcing in advance.

Team members must be at least 14 years old, and 16 years old to be on the pit wall next to the competition surface.

There are a wide range of interesting roles for Team members, and you’ll be asked for your preference when completing your Expression of Interest.
