Weekend Run to Bob’s Shed Quirindi

Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May 2024

Leaving Thornleigh McDonalds on Saturday morning, to first visit the Murrurundi Museum then on to the Imperial Hotel at Quirindi for lunch before arriving to check out Bob’s Shed that afternoon and ending up at the Sunflower Motor Inn for our overnight stay.

Sunday breakfast will be at Bob’s Shed and a visit to the Werris Creek Rail Museum before setting off home.

Come along for a fun filled day at the Hunter Valley Steamfest where we will be displaying our cars in the Show and Shine in Maitland Park. You can wander around and enjoy all that Steamfest has to offer, from steam train races or train rides, antique machinery and see how things used to be done, or just check out the market stalls or gourmet food stores and more. It is a great day for the entire family, young and old.

A donation to enter Show and Shine is $10.00 per vehicle, to be paid in cash at Steamfest.

Car Club Display – Blacktown City Show

This year’s event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Blacktown City Show and is planned to be the biggest and best yet!

The Blacktown Show is over the weekend of Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March, with the Car Show only on Sunday 10th March.

Our Club is participating in this Show with a Club Car Display for members and their families to enjoy a family friendly event, and to help promote our Club to the community.

Over 500 cars are expected to enter into the Car Show on Sunday. With our Club Display limited to 45 car places, you will need to enter quickly to ensure your spot!

Entries will be accepted on a “first in” basis and will close 10:00pm Thursday 29th February.

Entry is FREE for all Entrants, family, guests and all the General public. Entry cost is sponsored by the Blacktown City Council

Booking your car spot is required. Please make sure if you have more than one Club Car, that you login with the account that the car you are displaying is registered under before you submit your entry.

Location: Blacktown Showground (Richmond Rd Blacktown), entry via the Kent Street Gate

Meeting Place: McDonalds, Reservoir Road Arndell Park

Meeting Time: 7:00am, Briefing 7.15am & Depart 7.30am to Arrive at 7.45am

Peter Brock Memorial Run to Mount Panorama Bathurst – 24th March 2024

Postponed from 17th March due to wet weather, this cruise to the Mount Panorama race track at Bathurst is our biggest run of the year and is the closest date the track was available for us to commemorate Peter Brock’s Birthday, 26th February 1945.

This is an HSVOC Members Only event. Only members and their guests who have made online bookings may attend. Entries by non HSVOC Members will be cancelled and refunded.

Names need to be checked in and wrist bands will be issued at all meeting points.

Doing it in the Dark at Sydney Motorsport Park!

 

The NSW Road Racing Club has invited our Club members to join them in a members evening on the Amaroo circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park, under lights.

The Event will have the following activities during the Evening:

For Drivers with a Motorsport Australia competition licence: Test n Tune sessions $175

For Drivers who don’t have a competition licence but want to have some fun on the track: Come n Try $175 (A MA Introductory Licence is required and the cost of $30 to be paid by Visa or MasterCard at the event. 16 years or older.)

… and a Free Passenger Session for those who enter as a passenger!

If you haven’t driven on a track before, this is a great opportunity to try it out in a safe environment and at a great price!

You can register to enter as many of these different activities as you want, taking into consideration the licensing requirements of each.

Private Hire Club Drag Day Sunday 19th November 2023

The Muscle, Classic and Performance Car Club has invited members of the HSVOC to their Private Club Track Hire Drag Day on Sunday 13th August 2023.

Cost is $230 per car and is great value because with the number of entries limited to 50 there will be plenty of time to run your car and race your mates if you wish to do so.

This date is the new date for the event on 13th August that was postponed due to forecast rain.

If you entered for the August event, your entry has been moved to 19th November and you don’t need to do anything more.

If you entered for the August event and cannot make the November event, please contact the event organiser Michelle Bullen on 0424 345 885.

Entry price also includes entry for 1 driver, 2 crew members and 3 spectators – and no more. Crew members will have access to area near the launch pad, spectators will be restricted to the general spectator area.

Entries close once 50 entries are received, so be quick to secure your place.

No shops will be open at the venue and you are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Competitors gates open at 8:00am, Registration and Scrutineering 8:00am to 9:45am. A compulsory Drivers Briefing will be held at 9:45am, with Racing commencing around 10:00am.

The apparel requirements and other information is included in entry form which you will need to download and read. Please make sure that your helmet has a AS/NZS1698 standard sticker on it, or at minimum complies with this standard. A summary of the requirements for the day is below.

Note that ONLY people whose names which have been submitted on your entry form will be permitted access to the venue on the day.

Test n Tune Club Drag Day Saturday 15th July 2023

The HSV Owners Club has organised a Test n Tune Drag Day for its members at Sydney Dragway on Saturday 15th July 2023.

These are great spectator events with General Admission ticket prices at just $22.95 with free on-site parking. Teens 13-16 and Seniors tickets are $11.75. 18+ Trackside tickets are $33.15. Racing starts at 10:00am.

This Open Test and Tune is available for all IHRA licence holders to test their machines on a fully race-prepped surface.

It is also a great opportunity for fans to meet their favourite racers in a more relaxed environment and check out some of the newest race cars and bikes in action.

You never know what to expect at these Test and Tunes – you could see anything from Top Fuel and Professional Racers looking for the performance to give them an edge over their competition, through to Junior Dragsters, quick street cars and just about everything in between!

Coffs Harbour Weekend Away – 10th to 12th November 2023

In conjunction with the HSV Owners Club of Qld we will be continuing the tradition of an annual weekend away in Coffs Harbour.

Because there are only 20 display places the Club will be allocating entries based on vehicles submitted via this Expression of Interest.

Priority will be given to cars that competed in last year’s Muscle Car Shows.
Those cars that were not entrants in last year’s Shannons Sydney Classic will have precedence.

Members who submit this Expression of Interest will be advised if they will be included in our Club’s 2023 Shannons Sydney Classic display early in July this year, if not sooner.

If you have multiple Club vehicles, you will need to log in with the account that includes the vehicle which you want to have included in our Club display.

Entry is a two stage process, but please don’t delay as there are strictly limited places in each Group.

  1. Choose to join either the Beginners, Intermediate or Advanced Groups, and then click on the “Book Now” button.
    Each Group has 15 minute sessions. While one Group is out on the track, the second Group is being formed in the Grid marshalling Area while the third Group has a rest in the Pits.

The cost to the Club for each meal is $35.00, plus the cost of catering staff. The Club needs to confirm attendance numbers one week out and will be charged on a per head basis based on these numbers. Please only RSVP if you are going to actually attend the Christmas Meeting as the Club will still get charged $35.00 if you RSVP and don’t attend. Members who RSVP and don’t attend will be asked to contribute the cost of the meal that was wasted.

 

A drink voucher for 2 drinks (beer, wine or soft drinks) or 1 spirit drink will be given to financial members and partners of family members only.

First, please Click here to enter and pay direct with Driving Solutions. A new window will open so you can keep following these instructions.

  1. Choose to join either the Beginners, Intermediate or Advanced Groups, and then click on the “Book Now” button.
    Each Group has 15 minute sessions. While one Group is out on the track, the second Group is being formed in the Grid marshalling Area while the third Group has a rest in the Pits.
  2. In the “Start Booking Now” section select “Tue – 08/11/2022 6:00 PM” and then click on the “Book Now” button.
  3. Fill in your booking, billing and payment details and then submit your order to secure your entry.

HSVOC Super Show at Hot Rod & Custom Auto Expo – 27th & 28th May 2023

Be part of the biggest Car Show of its kind in Australia!

The HSVOC Super Show is being held in conjunction with the Hot Rod and Custom Auto Expo in a luxurious, air-conditioned and carpeted indoor setting.

Points gained at the Super Show will go towards our 2023 Club’s Muscle Car Show Championship, the 2023 winners to be announced at the Gala Presentation Dinner in November 2023.

We will be judging our Club’s cars for this Championship as per our normal Muscle Car Shows.

Entry is only $120.00 per vehicle, but you are welcome to pay an additional $20.00 judging fee to have your car judged by the Hot Rod and Custom Auto Expo judges and be eligible for their awards as well.

The Club display is STRICTLY LIMITED to 55 cars indoors and 6 cars under cover outdoors. These spaces will be allocated on a first-in basis. Enter early to ensure that you don’t miss out on this incredible event!

It will be held over 2 days, with HSVOC vehicle bump-in 5:00pm on Friday 26th. Entrants receive two weekend entry and bump in passes, a Goodies Bag and an Expo T-Shirt. Power (10 amp) is available for an additional $15.00 per vehicle.

We have booked several tables at the Rose Hill Bowling Club for the After-Show Party from 5:00pm Saturday night. Please indicate in your online entry below how many places you would like reserved for you and your guests from this table booking if you want to wine and dine.

Our Club will be awarding it’s own Muscle Car Championship trophies for this event at 11:00am Sunday morning. Bump out will be from 5:00pm Sunday evening.

Additional day passes are available at the event – $30 adults, $25 pension card, $20 student 17+ with ID, $10 child 5-16 years, family $70 (2 adults & 2 children). Adult weekend pass $50. General Parking in P2, P3 & P4.

Deadline for entries is Friday March 17th, 2023.

 

How To Enter:

  1. Make sure that you have logged in to your account on this website.
    If you have more than one eligible vehicle, make sure that you have logged in with the account that has this vehicle listed.
  2. Complete the Club Super Show entry information below and click on “Book Ticket” to add your entry to the Cart.
  3. Check your information in your Cart and then proceed to Checkout.
  4. Now that you have entered the Club Display, please click here to download the Official Hot Rod & Custom Entrant Application form.
  5. Print, complete and sign the Entrant Application form as required. Please check to see that you have not missed out any information as this will affect your application. You don’t need to pay the $20 judging cost (unless you want to be judged by Hot Rod & Custom Expo as well) as the Club will do our own judging on Saturday and our own award presentation at 11.00am Sunday morning.
  6. Scan the competed form and email it to info@hotrodandcustom.com.au,  making sure that you include a digital photo of your car with your application as required.
  7. Entry cost is $120.00 and includes a goodies bag, a free T-shirt and two bump in and weekend passes, one for you and 1 other. You will receive a Tax Invoice a few days later confirming your entry once it has been processed.

The ARDC is celebrating its 70th Anniversary over the first weekend in September in conjunction with the Muscle Car Masters.

Our Club has been invited to display its vehicles at Sydney Motorsport Park on Saturday 3rd September as part of these celebrations.

Entry is free and each vehicle accepted will receive a vehicle pass and two entry tickets. Children under 12 are free, so bring the family for a fantastic day out.

Venue entry will be at 9:00am on Saturday 3rd September, more details will be advised to entrants prior to the day.

As this is a Club display, Club members are required to wear their Red Club Polo shirts on the day, as well as their Soft Shell Jackets if they have one.

If you want to enter a car that is different to that which is on your HSVOC Membership Plan, please email the Webmaster with that vehicle’s details.

2023 NSW 6 Hour Regularity – Expression of Interest

This event is the “Bathurst 1000” of our Club each year. It’s an event that everyone can experience the fun and exhilaration of a race team, but in a friendly less serious environment.

Our Club supported 3 teams in this event in 2022, and we’d like to bring this great experience to more of our members by offering a chance to participate in this event in 2023.

The first thing we need to do is to determine how many Teams our Club will need to support in the 2023 event.

If you are interested in entering your car next year, please complete the Expression of Interest below.

Once we have this information, we will be able to work out how many teams we will have and the number of drivers for each team.

We ask each driver to also nominate at least one other person who can help out over the event as a member of their Team.

Drivers may also nominate a preferred Team to join. Members of the 2022 Teams as below have priority.

Team Red: Paul McIntyre, Brenton McIntyre, Peter Blackwell & Peter McIntyre.

Team Black: Louise Taylor, Jack Hills, John Hills & Craig Trevenar.

Team White: Luke Wall, Shane Bender, David Sultana, Kiara Zabetakis & Daniel Garrett.

Team Blue: A new team if numbers require a fourth team or if you want to run in another team with some of your mates.

People who wish to join a team as a Team member but don’t have an association with a driver, are also asked to submit an Expression of Interest so that we can plan our Teams resourcing in advance.

There are a wide range of interesting roles for Team members, and you’ll be asked for your preference when completing your Expression of Interest below.

Team members must be at least 14 years old, and 16 years old to be on the pit wall next to the competition surface.

“One of the reasons I joined the HSVOC was to try and get into motorsport. To get involved I volunteered as pit crew for the 6hr in 2021 and then again in 2022. It is the best seat in the house – lots of cool (and uncool) cars, great people, teamwork & banter to keep things entertaining on the wall. It’s a great way to get an understanding of amateur motorsport whilst spending time with your club mates. Our drivers do appreciate the support. I hope to take what I’ve learned & begin a new experience representing our great club on the track in 2023.” Jason Lill, member 2063.

Coffs Harbour Weekend Away – 11th to 13th November 2022
Bookings are essential so that we are aware of who is attending and where about they are meeting the convoy!

In conjunction with the HSV Owners Club of Qld we will be continuing the tradition of an annual weekend away in Coffs Harbour.

If you’ve never been away with the Club this is a fantastic opportunity to get to know your fellow members better.

There’s plenty of time to sit down with members that you don’t know all that well and find out more about them while also letting them know more about yourself  

All the members who have been on previous Coffs Harbour Weekends with the Club can confirm this event is one that shouldn’t be missed.

All accommodation MUST be booked personally and a deposit will be requested by Opal Cove Resort at the time of booking.

Track Day with Passenger Sessions & Tuition

The Nissan Sports Car Club have invited us to their track day at Wakefield Park Raceway where we will be providing one-on-one driver tuition for those who would like to learn some of the secrets of getting good times around that track.

Format will be a minimum of four timed sessions and two untimed passenger sessions, with drivers allocated to groups of similar times.

Passenger sessions will be the first and fourth session, where drivers can take a passenger or instructor. Depending on how quickly the day runs, there is a good chance of a third passenger session.

Track driving tuition is available at no extra cost. If you select the “Tuition” option below, an experienced HSVOC supersprinter will coach you during one of your passenger sessions and will advise you on the lines, braking and turn-in points as well as other helpful track craft.

The passenger session format is unique to this Club and is the initiative of HSVOC motorsport team member Brett Gilles, who is also VP of the NSCC, hence this invitation.

Cost for the day is just $230.00 including a timing transponder.

A Motorsport Australia Speed or AASA  license is required.

Entry to the Gardens is free but there is a charge for the car park that will keep all or cars secure and away from the general public cars. Cost is $6 per car.
We will remain at the Gardens for approx. 2 hours and meet back at the cars 12:30pm.

We will then make a 12 min drive to Bilpin Cyder. Unfortunately, they no longer do tastings due to Covid, but you can purchase a tasting paddle for $15 if you wish to have a taste.
We will remain at Bilpin Cyder for approx. 30mins then we make our way to Hillbillly Cider for lunch at 1:30pm, where you will be able to order delicious pizzas for $17-$25. Pay for own lunch at Hillbilly Cider.

It is a great day for the entire family, young and old.

Airport sprints are a fun way to see just how fast your car will go in a safe, off-road environment with minimal stress on your vehicle. Open to both road registered and log booked vehicles

Our Club plans to travel as a group to Gunnedah on Friday, sprint on the Saturday and then leave at 7:00 am to drive to Mount Panorama, Bathurst on the Sunday to join the Club’s Peter Brock Memorial Cruise, stopping at Mudgee along the way.

8 rooms have been booked at the Overlander Motor Lodge to secure accommodation as the town will be booked out for that weekend. Currently only 3 of these rooms remain, so you really need to book as soon as possible!

Members who are entering this event are encouraged to share their room to minimise the cost of this event, and maximise the number of entrants that we can accommodate.

If you click “Share” below, you will not have to pay upfront, but will be asked to pay for your share once bookings have been finalised. These rooms have a Queen and a single bed in each. You have the option to select a Queen bed ($160 for 2 nights) or a Single bed ($130 for 2 nights) when you select the “Shared” accommodation option. These will be on a “first in” basis as the motel has been fully booked and only 3 of our rooms remain available.

The General Meeting on Tuesday 7th December 2021 will be our Club’s annual Christmas Party Meeting.

Note new start time of 7:30pm!

ARDC Hinxman Room (On top of the pits at the Control Tower end, Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek.)

Please note that due to COVID-19 requirements, free hot meals will be served up to members. The cost to the Club for each meal is $35.00, plus the cost of catering staff. The Club needs to confirm attendance numbers one week out and will be charged on a per head basis based on these numbers. Please only RSVP if you are going to actually attend the Christmas Meeting as the Club will still get charged $35.00 if you RSVP and don’t attend. Members who RSVP and don’t attend will be asked to contribute the cost of the meal that was wasted.

 

A drink voucher for 2 drinks (beer, wine or soft drinks) or 1 spirit drink will be given to financial members and partners of family members only.

Additional drinks available for purchase by CARD ONLY, NO CASH.

At this stage, double vaccination, social distancing and other Government Covid-19 requirements will be in place which may include a maximum number of people per table.

RSVP’s must be submitted no later than 25th November 2021.

RSVP’s are essential. If you haven’t submitted an RSVP, please don’t try to attend.
