Now with 325 members, the 15th Anniversary Show n Shine was a mega affair which was held at the Fox Studios with Mark Skaife and Craig Lowndes as guest celebrities. Although it cost the club $40,000 to run, income was around $65,000 which left the club with the best part of a $25,000 nest egg to take into the future.

Barry Wright was elected President for the year 2000 and the new magazine Editor, Karin Ross, introduced a revised format for the Club magazine with higher quality paper and printing.

A new club website launched by Andrew Guesdon so that information could be communicated to members on a more timely basis, as well as presenting the club to the general public in order to increase the Club’s ability to attract new members.

The Club became registered for GST with the Australian Taxation Office on 1st July 2000 and was issued with an ABN number.

Annual General Meetings were moved to November, which is just before the new Club Year starts in January. Previous AGM’s were held in February / March and a great part of the year had already gone by the time that the Committee was voted in.

The HDT/HSV Nationals in Victoria planned for the Easter weekend in 2000 was cancelled by the Victorian Club due to internal problems. The Victorian Club subsequently changed its name to the “HSV Car Club of Victoria incorporating HDT”.

In July a letter was received from John Harvey of HSV asking all clubs to adopt a common national club naming “standard” by changing the club’s name to “HSV Owners Club of NSW (Incorporating HDT)” in order to help establish a national identity. The new HSV Owners Club logo pictured above was subsequently adopted by all HSVOC’s nationally.

New Magazine Era:
Karin Ross became Magazine Editor with her first magazine being the January – February 2000 edition pictured below. She also introduced this new cover design which had the new Sydney Olympic Stadium at Homebush as the background. This was quite topical with Sydney hosting the Olympic Games in the year 2000. Karin went on to produce the bi-monthly Behind the Wheel magazine for more than the next 20 years!

Karin’s first experience with the Club was in May 1999 when she took part in the Mothers Day Driver Training and fell in love with “scorching around the track”! She bought Neal Hinrichson’s lovely VS, joined the Club and she’s “been flying” ever since!

2000 Club Magazines:
2000 and 2001 Club Magazines had the same cover theme:
