Rules and Judging Criteria for Judged Muscle Car Shows

Participation

HSV Owners Club Show n Shine events are open to all financial Club members who are encouraged to represent their club whether the car is driven every day or left in the garage and brought out for those special occasions. Your car doesn’t have to be covered in chrome or be heavily modified; it can be stock as it came from the showroom floor. There is a class for all members. Enter and make yourself and your Club proud!

General Rules

The car is to be clean and tidy and well presented. It should be displayed to the best of your ability and reflect the quality of the car, the Club and the Show’s sponsors. Vehicles judged in the classes listed herein must be currently listed in the Club’s Membership Register as being an eligible vehicle.

All Entrants MUST wear the EVENT SHIRT of the Show on the day or they will be disqualified.

No Refunds 14 days out of any Muscle Car Show .

Organisers have the right to invite other vehicles to display in order to add interest to the event, but these vehicles will not be eligible for judging, however they may receive other recognition such as a “Car of the Day” award at the sole discretion of the Special Events Director.

Brock HDT

Brock era HDT Cars will be against each other regardless of their kilometres.

HDT Awards:

Best Brock HDT First place,
Best Brock HDT Second place
Best Brock HDT Third place

There must be at least 5 cars to qualify for awards. No differentiation due to the kilometres travelled.

Elite

Cars that have travelled an average of less than 5,000 km per annum from their build date to the current show year. New cars with an HSV build date of the previous or current show year, regardless of the kilometres travelled are also included in this class.

Elite Awards:

Best Elite HSV First place,
Best Elite HSV Second place
Best Elite HSV Third place

There must be at least 5 cars to qualify for awards.

Show N Shine

Cars that have travelled an average of between 5,000 km and 10,000 km per annum from their build date to the current show year.

Show N Shine Awards:

Best Show N Shine HSV First place,
Best Show N Shine HSV Second place
Best Show N Shine HSV Third place

There must be at least 5 cars to qualify for awards.

Daily Driven

Cars that have travelled an average in excess of 10,000 km per annum from their build date to the current show year.

Daily Driven Awards:

Best Daily Driven HSV First place,
Best Daily Driven HSV Second place
Best Daily Driven HSV Third place

There must be at least 5 cars to qualify for awards.

Motor Sport

Cars entering this class must have entered in at least 3 of our club Motorsport events during the previous and current show year. Cars in this class will be judged against other motorsport cars only and are not required to be eligible vehicles (eg HDT or HSV).

Motorsport Awards:

Best Motor Sport First place,
Best Motor Sport Second place
Best Motor Sport Third place

There must be at least 5 cars to qualify for awards. No differentiation due to the kilometres travelled.

Modified

This class is for Cars with higher levels of modifications including added forced induction systems. Cars entering this class must tick the box on the entry form. Cars in this class will be judged against other modified cars ONLY.

Modified Awards:

Best Modified HDT/HSV First place
Best Modified HDT/HSV Second place
Best Modified HDT/HSV Third place

There must be at least 5 cars to qualify for awards. No differentiation due to the kilometres travelled.

Rookie

This Award is for New Members for their first year ONLY. Entrants that complete the entry form as a First Time Entrant will be included in the judging for this Award. Organisers will be checking entries in this class against the last couple of years of entrant data.

Other Awards

Best New Member HDT/HSV.

Best HDT/HSV Top Show Car

Awarded for the highest points overall in all categories from all entries on the day (less the undercarriage points from the Elite class.) No separate HDT or HSV Top Car award.

Best HDT/HSV Top Show Car.
Best HDT/HSV Top Show Car – Runner up

Best HDT/HSV Display

The entrant that best presents their car on the day. May include promotional articles, bill boards, Holden or HSV products etc. The winners are selected by the dealership.

Best HDT/HSV Entrant’s Choice

The entrants that enter the Show n Shine will be given a voting slip to pick a car that they like on the day. Must be returned by 12 noon on the day.

Individual Models

All cars in all classes will be scored to compete in the individual Model Trophy category.

The undercarriage score in Elite Class and the modification score in the Modified Class will be deducted in the Individual Model Competition to equalise the scoring against other classes.

Note: ONLY VE & VF models will be split up into series as above. Additionally there are no trophies for Best Exterior, Best Engine Bay or Best Interior. These areas will still be judged and the points will go towards your overall points score.

Exterior
• Paint Work (Gloss, peel etc)
• Glass and lights
• Bodywork and Panel Fit
• Body Trim (i.e. door handles, badges, decals etc)
• Total 100 points

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
• General Cleanliness, Scratches, Dents, Blemishes etc
• Display presentation. Removal of wheels etc.
• Total 30 points

Engine Bay
• Underside of Bonnet, Firewall (including build plates, decals etc)
• Engine
• Air conditioning, Power Steering, belts, hoses, leads etc
• Total 75 points

Interior
• Dashboard, Steering Wheel, Console, Pedals etc
• Carpets and Floor Coverings
• Headlining
• Seats and Seatbelts
• Door Panels
• Door Hinges and Door Rubbers
• Boot Area, Spare Tyre, Boot Carpet
• Total 80 points.

Chassis
These points are only allocated to the Elite class.
• Underside of Floor Plan, Fuel Tank, Inside Mudguards
• Front Suspension
• Rear Suspension
• Underside Engine, Sump
• Total 50 points.

Modified
At least 5 significant modifications are required for this class. Examples include forced induction system, wheels, sound system, custom paint, modified motor, modified suspension, modified interior and so forth.

• Overall impact of the total package (the “Wow!” factor).
